How we spent our summer vacation

We are happy to report that we still like each other after having spent an entire week together. Even Joe and Devon survived their week with the in-laws!
This is the night we've waited for. Luke helped me begin our family night with an opening prayer. We talked about family unity. We'll all think about the story whenever we use chopsticks. Remember we are stronger together just like a big bundle of chopsticks tied together. If someone in our family needs us for anything....remember to say "chopsticks" and then work together to bless one another's lives.
Everyone needs an Uncle Michael!

It was a great day to spend at the beach.
When Michael is at the wheel, it's sure to be an exciting ride!

No wonder Parker has no fear!

nothing like having our own private beach! Oh did I say "private"? You mean we weren't suppose to be there?

Wait...this is a photo op we can't miss. We know the tours of the Midway end in an hour, but we're taking this picture anyway! It's not as easy as it looks to stand like that!

We made it on the ship and went straight to the top so we could see the fighter jets. Devon could have spent three days on this ship and loved every minute of it.

Hurry, hurry, walk a little faster, faster....hurry, hurry, maybe even run! We've put our money in the meter and it's ticking! We only have an hour and a half to do a three hour tour.

Is is really worth an hour and a half wait to ride this thing? How about if you guys go on two or three other rides while me and dad wait in line!!! Actually, we really didn't mind. As it turned out, this was the only long line in the park that day anyway. Great day to go to Disneyland!

There's nothing like seeing Disneyland through little children's eyes.

I never thought a fireworks show could be that amazing!

Warm California nights are the best...especially at sunset at the beach.

Are all California girls blonde and tan? Kimberly finally achieved her goal of being more tan than the rest of us.

I think the guy in charge of this ride loved us! It was the most excitement he's had in days at Lego Land. Nothing like a little competition between family members. I think Dad and Michael's fire truck was rigged!

Michael and Joe continued their search for the most exciting ride at Lego Land. You can tell this one was Waaaay exciting! They look like they are with a summer camp group in the same color shirts.

Taking a break from the heat and the rides....all the adults watched with envy as the kids all played in the cool water park.

Our last night together having dinner at King's Fish House....yummm! The hardest decision of the night was what kind of dessert to surprise Robyn with. We all enjoyed sharing the one piece of chocolate cake that we got especially for Robyn. Thanks for sharing it with us!

It is so fun looking at all the pictures! Tell dad to send me a CD with all the pictures from your camera! Every day was great...I think we need to plan QUARTERLY family vacations...don't you? Who needs to work? LOVE YOU!

That's funny...I looked at your blog after you posted pictures, but before you'd added all the comments. I loved it! By the time Michael does HIS version of the trip (and talks about how much he LOVED Legoland), everyone who reads these will know every little detail. Probably more than anyone else wants to know, but it was SO MUCH FUN! It really was one of the most memorable vacations ever....probably one of the only ones where it was JUST our family. Most of our vacations growing up were spent visiting people, so this was great (not that we didn't love the visits, too...you know what I mean). ANYWAY, I loved it. I'm glad you added comments to the pictures!

By the way...the Chocolate Cake was the PERFECT choice. Too bad Parker didn't want Taylor or Luke to have any....

Do you think I should just keep adding comments? Just kidding...I'll stop at 4. Love ya!

Nice Rob! Looks like you guys had a blast! I was bummed that we had already left for UT and didn't get to see everybody for a bit!

You're right, it does look like Joe and Michael are part of a summer camp group. Too funny! That really made me laugh! I was glad to finally see pictures from the other half of the trip. I think we should definitely plan on another trip to Legoland since Michael loved it so much!!! Maybe we could have a do over at Los Olas too to make up for the crappy service. Oh, what the heck...let's just re-do the entire vacataion! Besides, I could never get sick of Disneyland or the Beach and it's even way better when I can hang out with the people I love the most! Love ya!

What a fun week you guys had. So nice to get everybody together in one place, huh? Those pictures of the beach make me lonsesome for that California sunshine (and non-heat).

SO YOU HAD A REALLY GREAT TIME WITHOUT ME!! Oh well I guess I can live with it because I just really enjoyed the pictures. I am not sure what to think of Legoland but it must be a lot of fun. I am surprise that none of you got sea sick on the aircraft carrier even though it was docked. I guess you really know how to fill in a day and the kids didn't get sick or anything. These are fun memories.

Legoland was a blast, and Joe and me having matching shirts made it even better. I'm glad that we got to eat out that last night, or we would have been permanently scarred from Las Olas. I sure do miss you and dad buying all of my meals...
